Richard Freeman has been carving since he was a teenager,
beginning with stone and eventually evolving into wood. His
carvings are mostly sports related sculptures with themes
of tennis, billiards and boxing. He gets his inspiration from
being a competitive billiards player and an okay tennis player.
:) Richard comes from a family of creative people, one brother
who is a musician and two sisters who are painters.
You
can almost feel the energy in each "Sculpture in Wood."
Richard uniquely captures tennis motion out of a single piece
of basswood.
